Home rapid antigen testing now approved by the TGA from November 1 while demand for rapid workplace testing continues to grow.

1 October, 2021
1 million CareStartTM COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test kits (RATs) have just arrived in Australia to be used in workplace settings nationally.

The use of RATs in workplaces creates an essential added layer of security within a holistic COVID-safe plan, and whilst home testing has received the TGA green light for use from November 1, the current use of rapid workplace testing will also continue to grow.

For more than 100 Australian companies, including Commonwealth Bank, Qantas, Wesfarmers, small businesses and various schools, the morning begins with a non-invasive CareStart TM Rapid Antigen Test allowing for quick action at the point of care.

Early detection of COVID-19 in the workplace can avoid detrimental business shutdowns, and most importantly, can reduce the risk of spreading the virus amongst staff, students, customers and the broader community.

Screening employees at least twice a week can help quickly identify and isolate those who are COVID-19 positive, including those who don't have any symptoms.

The mass use of the CareStartTM COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test kits across Australia will help us to all get back to the office sooner, and closer towards the elusive COVID-normal way of living.

It is recommended that even fully vaccinated individuals participate in regular workplace screening, as a combination of strategies is the safest and best approach in stopping the spread.

CareStartTM is widely available in each state and territory. For order enquiries, please contact enquiries@pantonichealth.com or phone 03 5975 1495

Please note the TGA conditions that apply to the CareStartTM Rapid Antigen Test:

  • It must only be used by relevant practitioners, or persons under their supervision, who are trained in the correct use of the goods and the interpretation of the test results, and it must not be supplied for the purpose of self-testing or home-use.

  • Negative test results do not exclude infection with COVID-19, so face masks, social distancing and good hygiene practice must be maintained; and

  • Positive test results or symptomatic persons require immediate confirmatory testing with a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test
